An ancestral haven
at the edge of the Amazon

Finca Sachawasi is an ancestral sacred site in the Condagua Territory of the Inga Nation, beside the majestic Caquetá River — at the foothills where the Amazon basin begins, about 40 minutes from Mocoa, the capital of Putumayo.

Scientists have confirmed this region holds more sacred medicinal plants per hectare than anywhere else on Earth, surpassing even the heart of the Amazon rainforest. The Finca sits adjacent to vast indigenous reserves of the Inga people encompassing over 35,000 hectares.

This land has been in Taita Luis's family across generations. His grandfather — also a Taita — lived here, as did his parents. It is a safe and protected place to come and heal, study, and connect with nature in the ancient way, as passed down from the grandfathers and Taitas that came before.

People love this place so deeply that they often do not wish to leave. "You feel it as soon as you arrive."

Taita Luis
Chindoy Hereditary

"The jungle takes care of the person and enhances them completely."

Taita Luis — affectionately known as Taita Lucho — was born on this very land into the Ingano family. A hereditary shaman of the Inga and Siona tribes of Putumayo, Colombia, Taita carries the highest shamanic rank recognised in Colombia.

At a young age, he was adopted into the Siona tribe and spent much of his life studying with the elders of that tradition, while remaining deeply rooted in the Inga lineage — the botanical holders of Sacred Plant Medicine. His grandfather before him was also a Taita on this same land.

Taita Luis has received direct instructions from Spirit and from his grandfather in vision to safeguard Finca Sachawasi — to protect the animals, the water, the jungle, and the medicine traditions, while sending prayers for humanity. For nearly 20 years he has been sharing these ancestral teachings and healing people from around the world.

He is the brother of Taita Juan (Juanito) and Taita Carlos — all three carrying the ancient lineage forward. Those who encounter him speak of his infectious laugh, gentle heart, and the profound depth of his vision and counsel.

2026 Retreat Calendar

This year we offer something never done before — a historic dual-retreat journey through two sacred jungle centers, guided by brothers Taita Luis and Taita Carlos Chindoy.

Important: Participation in Finca Aucawasi requires first attending the Finca Sachawasi retreat. Prior ceremony experience with this lineage is required for all participants. Transportation from Bogotá is not included — we assist with all logistics.

Who this retreat
is for

These retreats take place deep in the Amazonian jungle. The intensity of ceremony is heightened by the land itself. For this reason, we hold firm requirements for all participants.

Prior Ceremony Experience

You must have participated in ceremony previously with Taita Luis, Taita Juanito, or Taita Carlos — or have attended a retreat at Finca Ambiwasi. Prior experience with an established spiritual path or other traditions may also be considered. In general, what we wish is to invite sincere spiritual walkers.

Health Screening

Please disclose all medications, mental health history, and physical conditions in your application. Certain medications (especially SSRIs and MAOIs) are contraindicated with plant medicine.

Pre-retreat Diet

A specific preparatory diet is required for a minimum of two weeks before the retreat. Full dietary guidance is provided upon acceptance. This is essential for the depth of your healing.

Sincere Intention

This is a sacred ceremonial space rooted in indigenous tradition. Participants are asked to come with sincere intention, respect for the lineage, and openness to deep ancestral healing.
